This 60 year old woman came to Marina Plastic Surgery concerned about a scar on her upper lip. The scar was due to an injury she had suffered as a teenager, and she had been self-conscious about it ever since. She was hoping that a nonsurgical treatment could improve the appearance of the scar. She also wanted to learn more about nonsurgical procedures for correcting wrinkles and improving her skin texture. After performing a careful evaluation of her areas of concern, a custom cosmetic plan using injectables and laser skin rejuvenation was developed. The scar was corrected through the use of JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel, which was also used to give the lips a plumper appearance. We used RADIESSE® on her cheeks, nasolabial folds (the lines between the sides of her nose and her mouth) and marionette lines (the lines extending from the corners of her mouth to her jaw). BOTOX® Cosmetic was injected between the eyebrows and crow's feet. Restylane® was used to fill in the tear troughs under the eyes. To enhance her skin texture, we finished her "new look" with Pearl Fractional, a laser skin rejuvenation treatment that encourages the skin to renew itself from within. This treatment is ideal for reduction of deep wrinkles and creating a smoother skin appearance. The patient is very happy that she can look so vibrant and refreshed without needing to go "under the knife."
