Fraxel FAQ
How does Fraxel Laser Treatment work?
Fraxel Laser Treatment uses lasers to create a thermal interaction to specific minute areas on the skin. The heat penetrates 400 to 700 microns into the skin and causes the skin to begin to repair itself by rebuilding collagen. Because the surrounding tissues are not damaged the targeted areas can heal faster and without any unsightly side effects like oozing or scabbing. What results can I expect from a Fraxel Laser Treatment?
While results will vary from patient to patient, the level of change is often compared to more traditional ablative laser peel treatments. Skin looks more radiant, smooth and glowing. Lines and wrinkles are greatly minimized. Skin discolorations are faded or gone. In short, you can expect to look younger, healthier and more vibrant.

How safe is Fraxel Laser Treatment?
Fraxel Laser Treatment is very safe. Because it is non ablative with no incisions or skin layers removed, there is very little risk for infection. Fraxel penetrates the skin's surface, causing the work to be done underneath the top layers of the skin.

Can it be used on other parts of the body?
Yes. Fraxel Laser Treatment is unique in that it can be used on more delicate skin unlike other laser treatments. Chests, necks or backs of hands that have suffered sun damage or that show signs of aging, sun spots, melasma or even an abundance of freckles can be treated easily.

How long will the effects last?
Fraxel Laser Treatment can help to turn back the clock but it can't stop the aging process completely. Treatments are long lasting, but you still need to take good care of your skin, drinking plenty of water, eating healthy, minimizing stress and avoiding sun exposure. All of these steps will help you keep your youthful appearance longer.

Can this be combined with other treatments?
Yes. We believe it is an excellent addition to a ThermaCool Facelift. Fraxel Laser Treatments can be combined with other procedures as well. Talk to your physician and see how it can be combined to help you look your youngest and best.
